"I was young when I left home, and i've been all around and around."
My little brother keeps saying the exact things that I would say or think when I was younger and first moving to Austin. Theological arguments stop him from wanting to meet certain people, let alone accept them. When he makes the points he makes, I ju
st kind of giggle and say in my head-- "you'll lea
rn when you're older". It sounds so dumb and I would have thrown rocks at myself five years ago for saying that, but it's very true.
There have been parties, encounters with enemies and old lovers, hair grown, home replacement, movies finally seen, skin toasted, lips kissed, gin sipped, new birds finally heard, songs finally released from the brain to the finger, trees waved, traps set, grass danced, throat burnt, money made, sleep achieved, and god is on my side.
